China has launched a remote sensing satellite into its pre-set orbit on Saturday 27th of December, 2014

The Yaogan-26 remote sensing satellite was fired from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province. It was carried by a Long March-4B rocket, making it the 202nd mission for the Long March rocket family. The satellite will mainly be used in future scientific experiments, land surveys, crop yield estimates, and disaster prevention.
China launched Yaogan-1 satellite, the first of the "Yaogan" series, in 2006.
