Hey! Astronomers have discovered a diamond planet... check it out.

The planet was first observed last year — but researchers initially assumed it was similar in its chemical make-up to Earth. It was only after a more detailed analysis that the French-American research team determined the planet is vastly different from our own. It "appears to be composed primarily of carbon (as graphite and diamond), iron, silicon carbide and, possibly, some silicates", the authors wrote in a statement ahead of the publication of their findings in...

Is there life on other planets? An international team of scientists has found a neighbor star with at least six planets in orbit. Three are circling at the right distance for water to exist. Previously, the star known as Gliese 667C was found to be hosting three planets. One is located in its so-called "habitable zone", where temperatures could support liquid surface water. Scientists say the discovery of three planets in a star’s habitable zone raises the odds of finding Earth-like worlds. Gliese 667C is relatively near to Earth, located just 22 light years away. Besides the three well-positioned "super-Earths," two more planets may orbit on the fringe of the star’s habitable zone. They also could possibly support life.

Mikel’s Russian girlfriend celebrates his first Champions League goal

By Abiodun Alade Olga Allegra, the Russian girlfriend of Nigeria and Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, is proud of her man netting his first UEFA Champions League goal during the London side victory over Sporting Lisbon of Portugal. Mikel scored on Wednesday when he was the first to react after Fabregas swung in a free kick from the left hand side that was flicked towards goal by Cahill. His goal was the third on the night for the London side, who won 3-1. Allegra, delighted after her man scored the goal in the 56th minute against Sporting Lisbon, took to her Instagram page to celebrate the goal by posting a photo with Mikel.
